Missing Recorder name

by AndyAmphlett » Mon Sep 30, 2019 9:27 am

Tom,

I have noticed that some records do not display a Recorder name. For example:

https://database.bsbi.org/search.php#re ... 23d2f8a4f1. But I know that the original versions of these records had Recorder names. They are all from MapMateCentre:4qq. This copy of MM is one I used to use when working; it is no longer used.

https://database.bsbi.org/search.php#re ... 377502243e. From my current MM CUK - 2dd. All of these records should have Recorder names.

https://database.bsbi.org/search.php#re ... aa0e78c3c2. From a variety of non MM datasets. I suspect the majority have Recorder names.

Could you investigate?

Thanks,

Andy.

Hi Andy,

I think that most of these are part of a set that has been duplicated in MapMate, where one copy of the record has a recorder name and the other was given 'anon' (mapmate party id gtz4m5gw https://database.bsbi.org/mapmateobject ... _Recorders). E.g.

https://database.bsbi.org/object.php?ob ... nchstamp=0
and

Hi Tom,

Thanks. The duplication issue may apply to some records, but others, not. For example, this set of records from MM CUK 4qq

https://database.bsbi.org/search.php#re ... cd3f03b530

I have a copy of these records in my copy of MM and all have Recorder names. It looks like all the records had Recorder names until a MM sync file on 13/7/2016, which seems to have removed the Recorder name. That sync was from MM CUK 2qg (the BSBI hub).

I could re-sync those records to the DDb, but there might be a wider issue.

Tom,

As a test I re-synced one of the records, and it updated the Recorder name in all the records in the last query, mentioned above. Updated that last query to reflect today's update - https://database.bsbi.org/search.php#re ... d618de52b5

So as far as records that came directly or indirectly via my copy of MM< a re-sync looks like it will sort this issue out.

Investigating further, other records without Recorder name seem to mostly have versions with full details, eg. some Local Change records have no recorder name, but same records entered via MM have Recorder names.

Hi Andy,

I'm not sure which of us succeeded with forcing the "Wood, D, Amplett, A" update as I think we both tried a similar update at about the same time.

From an email you sent me in 2014 I have a list of six mapmate recorder entries (including some of those identified today) that had gone astray, I'm working through correcting those.
